Celebrate Law Day 2020
Friday, April 3rd and Tuesday, April 7th
Law Day is celebrated annually across Canada and was to be held in Thunder Bay on Friday, April 3, 2020 and Tuesday, April 7, 2020. Local activities celebrating the law including the OBA-OJEN Competitive Mock Trials competition, as well as an Open House at the Thunder Bay Consolidated Courthouse on Brodie Street. These events had to be cancelled due to COVID-19, but we hope to bring them back in the spring of 2021!
Secondary School Mock Trial Competition – April 3, 2020 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
On Friday, April 3rd, the Secondary School Mock Trial Competition scheduled to take place in Courtroom #205 was cancelled. We hope to be able to invite the public back to watch the competition in 2021. In 2019 the winning team, St. Ignatius, was added to the to the Justice Wright Law Day Cup! Thank you to all the students who participate, and to the lawyers who volunteer their time to guide and mentor the students in this annual event.

Thunder Bay Consolidated Courthouse Open House – April 7, 2020 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
The Thunder Bay Law Association had to cancel the invitation to the public to 125 Brodie Street N. to stroll through the consolidated courthouse. We hope to have the local judiciary and members of the Bar on hand in 2021 when this event will be offered again! This is always free event!
