The Thunder Bay Law Association and its members are involved in many volunteer organizations around the city and across the province. The Association organizes and supports the following initiatives:
Members volunteer their time every year to educate students in elementary and high school about the law. Poster contests and Charter challenges on the Charter of Rights are held with the elementary schools across Ontario and mock courtroom challenges are held with the high schools locally. These events are also supported by the Ontario Justice Education Network and the teachers at both the Lakehead Board of Education and the Roman Catholic School Board.
Members volunteer their time once per month at the Dew Drop Inn to assist those citizens that are in need of a meal.
An annual scholarship is provided to Confederation College for the Law and Security/Police Foundations programs. An ongoing bursary is supported for students enrolled in the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University.
